Niall Horan working on new music

Let’s recap what One Direction have been doing since embarking on their (hopefully temporary) hiatus: Liam Payne’s continued building his hip-hop cred with Juicy J, Louis Tomlinson’s been on diligent daddy duty, Harry Styles is kicking off his acting career, and Zayn Malik (yeah, we’re counting him for now) has released an entire solo album, Mind of Mine.

As for the group’s resident Irish cutie Niall Horan, he’s been chilling on the golf course, buddying up with pro golfer Rory McIlroy and flaunting his skillful swing enough to trick Directioners into thinking golf is an interesting sport.

But guess what? We finally have solid evidence that Niall’s been doing more than teeing up — he may actually be forging his own solo path.

Yes. Music biz veteran Wayne Hector, who wrote a bunch of hits for 1D, including “Steal My Girl,” “Best Song Ever,” and “History,” recently confirmed that he and Niall are collaborating again.

So directioners (mostly niall girls) Who's excited!?

Perfect Sugar-and-Spice combo : Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj

Good news, bad bitches and bad bitches-in-training: Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj have teamed up yet again.

Following their pair of 2014 collaborations — “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and “Get On Your Knees” from Nicki’s Pinkprint — the duo are back with another sugar-and-spice combo of sultriness and feistiness.

Ahead of the release of her third LP, Dangerous Woman, on May 20, Ari is apparently determined to preview as many of its tracks as possible.

The latest, “Side to Side,” is a reggae-influenced number that finds Ari being lovey-dovey while Nicki gets all up in a “fresh type of flow.” Her verse is packed with enough swagger and boastful energy to fuel your fantasies of being the baddest bitch you can.

And you know what? You can be. Just listen to the track and get into Nicki’s verse.

One Direction reunite on Family Guy

When news of One Direction’s Family Guy appearance broke in January, we predicted it’d be the perfect “mid-hiatus treat” for fans craving a reunion. Now, the band’s episode is finally in sight, and the first sneak peek proves it was definitely worth the wait.

The clip, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, shows the four lads sitting around a campfire with Stewie, who tells them a most horrifying tale involving — gasp! — non-skinny jeans. You have to hand it to the Family Guy animators — they nailed each guy’s appearance, right down to Harry Styles’s floral-printed blouse and Louis Tomlinson’s track jacket.

Though all four band members are depicted in the episode, only Louis and Liam Payne recorded dialogue for it. They’ll also be joined by another dude close to 1D: band dad/creator Simon Cowell, who will pop up in the episode to voice himself.

Family Guy co-executive producer Cherry Chevapravatdumrong told EW, “Liam and Louis were very funny and an absolute pleasure to work with. Or, as the Directioner part of me would say,

OMG LILO I’M SCREAMING!’”

Alessia Cara and G-Eazy : "Wild Things" Remix

Alessia Cara’s “Wild Things” was already a defiant anthem capable of rebel rousing on its own. But for a new, remixed version of the Know-It-All cut, Cara has hiked up the feistiness by recruiting buzzy Bay Area rapper G-Eazy.

The MC kicks off the track with a lackadaisical laugh (does he think he’s Jay Z or something?) before returning later for a cool, confident verse of his own.

So don’t get it mixed up/ It’s been my story, it’s never switched up/ And I never kissed up,” he raps, touting his own self-assuredness alongside Cara’s original declaration of independence.

Consider this your remixed reminder that being a misfit can still be fun as hell Cara and Eazy’s remix is expected to appear on her forthcomingWild Things (The Remixes) EP, the follow-up to Here (The Remixes), which dropped in April and featured Logic and Jaden Smith

Demi Lovato goes Country with new Brad Paisley duet "Without a fight"

When word got out about a new Demi Lovato track released Friday, the most common reaction seemed to be, “HELL YEAH, a new song with Demi!” followed by the sudden realization, “Wait… this is a country song?”

That’s right, Demi has gone back to her Texas roots and joined country superstar Brad Paisley for a killer new collab. After duetting on her ballad “Stone Cold” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards last month, Lovato and Pailey have reunited for “Without A Fight”

While Paisley lays on the guitar, Lovato sneaks in early and slowly builds up her volume until she’s in full-on belting mode.

She can literally slay any genre. Pop, hiphop, blues, disco, gospel, rock, dance.
